On, Monday July 27th, 2017, a Brampton native by the name of Mr Kris Roopnarine and his family donated wheelchairs and medical supplies to the Ghanaian Canadian Association of Ontario (GCAO) in collaboration with Ghanalinx Foundation.
Some volunteers from the GCAO and Ghanalinx Foundation went to the Roopnarine`s residence to receive the donations of 58 wheelchairs, 33 walkers and other medical supplies which are to be shipped for donations in Ghana.
Mr Roopnarine has been donating slightly used wheelechair and medical equipment for several years in other countries such as Mali, Guinea, Trinidad and Ecuador with support from organizations and individual donors.
The GCAO president Mr Emmanuel Duodu expressed his deepest gratitude to Mr Roopnarine and family after the donations and promised to acknowledge his efforts to the Ghanaian community.
The GCAO and Ghanalinx Foundation will be presenting the wheelchairs and walkers to various hospitals and clinics in Ghana later this year. Any support towards this project is welcome and you can reach Ghanalinx foundation via phone or email .
